Hometown? North Kingstown, Rhode Island

Favorite music artist or band? Impossible to decide! Varies depending on my mood

Dream vacation? I want to visit everywhere

Favorite post yoga snack? Smoothie packed with spinach, peanut butter, banana, almond milk and coconut  milk

A quote you love? "We are all living in cages with the door wide open." - George Lucas

Personal mantra? Three favorites:

I am joy. I am love. I am gratitude.

Look through the eyes of love, not judgment.

As I think, I shall be.

How did you get into yoga? I spent years trying to find a form of physical fitness that did as much for my mind and spirit as it did for my body. I reluctantly went to my first yoga class through recommendations from friends. After trying a few studios in New York, I found a select few teachers and classes I really connected with. While the practice made me stronger and more flexible physically, the greatest benefits I experienced were in my mind. I'd walk into yoga class feeling one way and walk out a more centered, authentic version of myself. That feeling is something I hold onto as a teacher -- the importance of creating an experience for students that provides a physical challenge, emotional catharsis and mental clarity.

Favorite time of day to get your practice in? Late morning or early evening

What's your favorite part of Y7? The trifecta of darkness, candlelight and flow on your own. This creates an atmosphere that lets yogis go inside, give into the music and express themselves fearlessly.
