Hometown:  Saint Paul, Minnesota.  I’m a good ‘ol Midwest boy.

Favorite Music Artist or Band:  Beyonce, Grace Potter, Fitz & The Tantrums, and Fleetwood Mac

Favorite Yoga Pose:  Side Crow

On Weekends You Can Be Found:  Concerts, shows, bars, cafes… I love exploring everywhere on the east side.  And if it is nice out? Grabbing a car, driving out of the city and getting my butt to the beach.

Favorite Movie of All Time:  The Scream Trilogy.  I am a huge sucker for a good horror movie.  But if I am feeling sentimental, then it is definitely Before Sunset.

Favorite Time to Get Your Practice In:  I am definitely a morning person.  My first thought (besides coffee) is usually when I can get an hour in to practice.

Dream Vacation:  I have been known to drop everything to take a trip to Las Vegas or Austin.  But I have been hearing pretty good things about Iceland.

Favorite Post Yoga Snack:  Water.  Is that lame?

How Did You Get Into Yoga:  A friend dragged me to the east village when I was in college to take my first class and I was instantly hooked.  Everything that people said about endorphins finally made sense to me.

What Was Your First Class Like:  I loved it immediately.  I think I went straight from the studio to a fitness store to buy yoga mats, tank tops and anything else to make me look like I knew what I was doing.

A Quote You Love:  “When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.  That’s what this storm’s all about.” -Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

Book Recommendation for Other Yogis:  Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.  What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami

Your Personal Mantra Is…  Breath, Intention, and Movement mean nothing if you cannot Smile, Laugh, and Play.

What’s Your Favorite Part About Y7:  The darkness in the studio really inspires me to bring all of my focus to the internal.  It makes my hour of practice 100% about me and nobody else.
