Favorite Quote: "This is the true joy in life, being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one. Being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" to me; it is sort of a splendid torch which I've got to hold up for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations." - George Bernard Shaw
Also my meditation teacher says one of her teachers told her, "Stop trying to not be miserable." However you feel is OK.
Personal Mantra: "You are power." :D
How did I find Yoga?: I started taking yoga classes while I was in college for musical theater. I didn't necessarily enjoy it while it was happening, but knew that it was good for me to balance the competitive nature of the entertainment world and New York City. After leaving an audition about two years ago I thought, "I'm not being used fully," and practicing and teaching yoga has expanded my life.
Favorite time to practice: When you practice in the morning, you feel like a badass all day. At night, you can let go of your entire day.
My favorite part of Y7? I feel like I have mental and physical breakthroughs in every single class. I consistently find myself pushed to my edge physically, and it allows me to let go and truly drop into my body, feeling the full range of my emotions. I can cry and release on my mat, and no one can tell because it's dark and I'm sweating so much! I love how the class builds, and I can get lost in the music and just move.
