ARE THE CLASSES ALL LEVELS?
Y7 WeFlowHard™ vinyasa classes are challenging practices that demand a lot from the body. That being said, we welcome all levels to come and try out a class. Yoga is all about your personal journey on the mat. We have a “do what you can” philosophy. Our teachers will offer modifications and adjustments as needed. Our Slow burn classes are the most accessible to beginners, as they are an intense vinyasa taken at a slower pace, with longer holds and provide more opportunity for teachers to make individual adjustments as needed.
AM I READY FOR A Y7 CLASS?
As long as you come with an open mind and good vibes, you are more than ready. Especially if you are at all nervous or fearful, stepping into the Y7 community will surely prove a very powerful experience for you.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEFLOWHARD™ VINYASA AND SLOWBURN?
Slowburn and WeFlowHard™ Vinyasa are flowing practices. In Slowburn we concentrate on getting deeper into muscle tissue by holding postures for longer periods of time. While there are still flow elements incorporated into the practice, it is not as fast paced as the WeFlowHard™ Vinyasa classes. Additionally, Slowburn is teacher-led throughout the class.
Our recommendation? Try out both classes and let us know what you like!
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I GIVE MYSELF BEFORE CLASS TO ARRIVE?
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before class to check in, set up your mat, talk with the instructor if need be and prepare yourself for practice. It also gives you a chance to meet other Y7 yogis. Trust us, this tribe is full of awesome people.
DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?
Showers are overrated. We prefer to be au natural. For those who do want to shower, our SoHo, Upper East Side, Williamsburg and Silver Lake locations all have showers. You can reserve a time slot when you arrive at the studio (another reason to get to class 15 minutes before!)
All of our studios are equipped with Refresh Stations.
DO ALL THE CLASSES PLAY HIP-HOP MUSIC?
We guarantee that if you come to #HipHopWednesdays and #HipHopSundays, you will hear hip hop music throughout the class. All of our other classes are heavily influenced by the music, and part of the fun are the individual playlists curated by each teacher. You’ll certainly hear plenty of hip hop music, along with other heart-pumping, soul-inspiring beats.
Each week there will be a new theme for #HipHopWednesdays and #HipHopSundays, announced on instagram at the start of the week. Got a favorite artist you want to hear? Let us know by tagging us on instagram!
Since our Slowburn classes move more slowly with an emphasis on deeper breaths, the music played reflects the pace of the class.
HOW HOT IS THE ROOM?
Hot enough to make you sweat...a lot!
Our unique infrared heating system gets the room between 80-90 degrees. The best part about our heat is that instead of simply blowing hot air at you, the infrared technology heats you up from the inside out.
ARE ALL THE CLASSES HEATED?
Yes! All of our sweat-dripping, beat-bumping, candlelit classes are heated.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Your open mind and deep breath. And a yoga mat and towel if you have one. Please bring water with you, as you are sure to sweat!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Comfortable athletic clothes that allow you to flow hard. No shoes or socks inside of the yoga room. Extra points if you wear Y7 swag!
DO YOU RENT MATS AND TOWELS?
For you? Of course! We have mats ($2) and towels ($3) for rent and Fiji water ($2) for sale.
IS IT SAFE TO PRACTICE EVERYDAY?
This practice helps you to develop body awareness. If your practice is feeling strong, come as much as you like! The important thing is to give yourself one day of rest for your muscles to recover. Our practices are demanding on the body and make your muscles work, so be sure to listen to your body and take a rest when you need it.
Also, be sure to drink plenty of water before and after practice. We recommend at least 32 oz. an hour before class.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
In order to give everyone a chance to flow, we require notice of cancellation 12 hours or more prior to class start time in order to unreserve your spot and return it to your account. For more on our policies, please visit www.y7-studio.com/policies.
CAN I SHARE CLASS PACKAGES?
While we want you to flow with your friends, Class Packages, Unlimited Memberships and Workshops are limited to one person per package and are non-transferable.
DO YOU ALLOW DROP-INS?
Of course! We do recommend signing up in advance especially for evening and weekend classes, as these tend to fill up quickly.
HOW DO I BECOME A YOGA INSTRUCTOR?
We offer a 200-hour and 300-hour Teacher Training that strictly adhere's to Yoga Alliance's guidelines for certification. Our program will give you the tools needed to become a yoga instructor, or if you just are looking to deepen your knowledge of yoga.
