A quote you love?
"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique." Martha Graham
B R E A T H E !! So simple yet so crucial. It's the single most centering thing for me, when I need to ground myself in the present, to release, to take one moment at a time. " Don't let your throat tighten with fear. Take sips of breath all day and night, before death closes your mouth" - Rumi
How did you get into yoga?
I've been a dancer since childhood so the need to move and express through motion was natural and necessary for me. I flirted with yoga on and off since my first class as a teenager, more as a compliment to dance at first. But then yoga sort of appeared to me as a major influence and savior at a time when I was very lost. And I realized then this practice is so special and unlike any other.
Favorite time of day to get your practice in?
I'm a midday yoga break kinda gal - love to escape from the world for a bit and emerge refreshed!
What's your favorite part of Y7?
I love losing myself in the music through the movement, traveling through this journey of rise and fall that drowns out everything else and brings you to a complete catharsis. Y7 is perfect for that experience because the dark, intimacy, beats and sweat make me lose inhibitions and judgements and get to that place of thoughtless, pure physical drive and motion - a true moving meditation.
